Download and install - Update Galaxy s3 Root on XXDLIH Jellybean 4.1 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy S3 on XXDLIH Jellybean 4.1 Firmware:
  • Download Odin and XXDLIH Rooting Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you now need to extract the rooting package and Odin in your computer.
  • Open odin in your computer and turn off your phone so that it can be entered in the Download Mode.
  • Download Mode in Galaxy S3 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode. Refer below video on how to enter your Galaxy S3 in the Download Mode.
  • Click on “PDA” to select “CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar” and then click on “Start”. Once you click on start, it will take around 2 – 3 minutes for rooting the device. Please note that once the device is rooted, the device will be rebooted automatically.
  • You can now disconnect the device and check whether the device is rooted or not. To check on whether your device is rooted or not, you will have to download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store. If your device is not rooted, you will have to follow the instructions mentioned above for rooting your Galaxy S3.

Procedure to Update VZW Galaxy S3 with Jellybean 4.1.1 Clean ROM Firmware:
  • Disconnect the device and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. If the device starts normally, then you will need to re try the process of entering the device in the recovery mode.

  • Download the latest Dragon Custom ROM Firmware which is based on the Jellybean 4.1.1 firmware in your computer. Once downloaded, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place this zip file in the external SD Card.
  • Once you have placed the zip file, disconnect the device from computer and turn off your phone so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Dragon Custom ROM Firmware package which you have placed in the. As soon as the update is applied, it will take around 3 -5 minutes for applying the update.
  • Once the firmware is updated successfully, the device will be rebooted and you will be prompted to enter the Google Account and Wi Fi Settings.   •  Once you have downloaded in your computer, place the same in the external micro SD Card of your Galaxy S3 smartphone.
  • Disconnect the device from computer and turn off your computer so that you can then enter your phone in the recovery mode. Recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Up rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode.
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the Jellybean firmware Package which you have placed in your phone. Once it’s selected, it will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update. Also, note that it may take longer time than the normal time for the first reboot.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
To check on whether the firmware has been successfully applied or not, all you need to do is to just head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where in you can check the same on the firmware has been updated or not where you will get the firmware version as Jellybean 4.1.1 update.

How to Update Galaxy S3 GT I9300 with Official Jellybean 4.1.1 XXDLIB Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy S3 GT I9300 with Official Jellybean 4.1.1 firmware XXDLIB:
  • Download the XXDLIB Firmware package and Odin from here to your computer. Once downloaded, extract the firmware zip file and Odin in your computer.
  • Open Odin in your computer and turn off your phone so that it can be entered in the download mode. With the help of below mentioned interactive Video tutorial, you can enter your phone in download mode.
  • Alternatively, you can also enter your device in the recovery mode by pressing the Volume Down rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode.
  •  
  • In download mode, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and click on “PDA” in Odin to select the tar file “I9300XXDLIB_I9300OXFDLI1_I9300XXDLIB_HOME.tar.md5”. Ensure that the ID : COM section in Odin has turned yellow or else the firmware can’t be applied.
  • Once you click on Start, you will see a progress bar which will indicate the progress of the firmware update in your Galaxy S3. It will take round about 5 – 8 minutes for applying the update. As soon as the firmware is update, you will see the home screen in your computer.
  • Once you see the home screen, disconnect the phone and head over to the Settings > About Phone where you will find the firmware update details and it should show the firmware version as XXDLIB.
  • Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

Download and install - Update Galaxy S2 & Galaxy S3 with AOKP 3.0 Firmware Version

 
Procedure to Update AOKP 3 Firmware Update in Galaxy S2 and in Galaxy S3 Device:
  • Download the below mentioned corresponding firmware from here to your computer and Google Apps package. Once downloaded, you will have to connect the phone to the computer and place these two files in your device. Kindly select the appropriate file for your Galaxy Smartphone or else it may even brick the phone.
  • Once you have placed the file in your phone, turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in your Galaxy S2 or S3 device can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). In recovery mode, select Clear cache and wipe all the data present in your phone so as to make sure that there are no force close errors after applying this update.
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the placed AOKP Firmware Package. Once the file selection is over, the firmware will be applied within 10 minutes, you can see the progress of firmware update with the help of a progress bar. As soon as you see the home screen, select “Go Back” to select the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung Galaxy S III refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.

Download and install - Update Galaxy S3 LTE I9305 with Official Jellybean 4.1.1 XXALI5 Firmware

Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 - Download Android 4.1.1 I9305XXALI5 for Galaxy S3 to your computer and extract the zip file.
Step 2 - Download ODIN v1.85 which will help you to install Android 4.1.1 on Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305.
Step 3 - Switch OFF your phone. Now go to Download Mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together, and then press the Power button till you see the construction Android robot and a triangle. Press Power again to confirm to enter into Download Mode.
Step 4 - Make sure you have your Galaxy S3 USB drivers installed on your computer.
Step 5 - Open ODIN on your computer. Connect your phone to your computer while your phone is in the Download Mode.
Step 6 - If your phone is connected successfully, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This step might take some time.
Step 7 - Now select the files that you have to flash/install on your phone. These files are to be found from the extracted files in Step 1.
  • Click on ‘PDA’ and select file with ‘CODE’ in its name.
  • Click on ‘Phone’ and select file with ‘MODEM’ in its name. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
  • Click on ‘CSC’ and select file with CSC’ in its name. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
  • Click on ‘PIT’ and select the .pit file. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
Step 8 - In ODIN, check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. As for the Re-Partition option, check it ONLY if you selected a .PIT file in the above step.
Step 9 - Now click on the Start button in ODIN. Installation process will start and would take a few minutes to complete.
Step 10 - After the installation is completed, your phone will restart. After you see the home screen, unplug your phone from the computer.
That’s it. Your Samsung Galaxy S III LTE has now been updated to Android 4.1.1 build XXALI5 firmware update. Go to Settings > About phone to verify.

How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) on Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300


  • The process may result in losing all of your data like apps, messages, contacts etc. So first of all take back up of all data to work risk-free.
  • Uninstall the antivirus from device (if any).
  • Don’t let the power of the device to create any problem for you. So keep your device charged at least 50 percent.
  • Download the ClockworkMod from here.
  • Download Odin v3.04 from here
  • Extract Odin3_v3.04.zip
  • Enter your Galaxy S3 into download mode by pressing the Volume Down + Power + Home buttons together.
  • Now connect your Galaxy S3-I9300 to your computer by using USB cable.
  • On successful attachment, you will see the “Added” message in Odin window.
  • In Odin, click the PDA button and select the ClockworkMod.zip file from there.
  • In the Odin, click on ‘Start’ button in order to start the flashing of ClockworkMod recovery image on your Galaxy S3-I9300.
  • When the flashing gets completed, your Galaxy S3 will reboot automatically.
  • You can disconnect your Galaxy S3 from PC after the Samsung Logo gets appeared.
  • To enter into the recovery mode, press Home and Volume Up buttons.
